Local boy raises over $2,000 for charity

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A local boy made a big donation after surpassing his goal for raising money for a charity.

17 News told you about 7-year-old Cody Tiede's goal last month.

Tiede learned about the Ronald McDonald house through a fundraiser his school held last year, and Cody's Pine Cones was born.

He turned pine cones into holiday decorations, and started selling them to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.

His goal was to raise $1,000 dollars, and thanks to his effort and your help he was able to shatter that. 

On Wednesday, he donated over $2,100 to the Ronald McDonald House.
