World War II - Korean War - Vietnam
Honor Flight Kern County is part of a national organization that sends WWII veterans and other veterans to Washington D.C. to see their memorial at no cost to the veteran. Honor
Flight Kern County is an all volunteer non-profit created to honor veterans of Kern County and surrounding areas, including the Central Coast, Fresno, and as far the San Fernando Valley. We honor all veterans of all wars. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II and Korean War survivors, along with those veterans who may be terminally ill. In Kern County there are approximately 46,779 veterans, and approximately 8,000 World War II and Korean War Vets.
There is no charge to the veterans for these trips, every veteran accepted by HFKC for this honor will have all expenses paid through tax deductible donations. This includes all transportation, meals, and overnight accommodations. For your sponsorship of a Veteran, he or she will receive a hero's send off in Bakersfield, and all the fanfare of a returning hero in D.C. Veterans then spend an entire day on guided and escorted tours of many the Memorials in D.C., including the WWII, Korean, Viet Nam, Navy, Marine, and Air Force memorials as well as the changing of the guard at Arlington Cemetery.
Please help us write this chapter of their lives. "The Greatest Generation" deserves nothing less from us! For information on how you can help support our mission to send our veterans on their next mission - Washington D.C. to see THEIR memorial - please call 661-544-VETS ( 661-544-8387 ). All donations are 100% tax deductible.
