Pierre asks: with Bakersfield High School having one of the most successful football programs in California history, have there ever been talks, fundraisers, or grant options to build a new stadium on school grounds?

John Teves, Public Information Officer for Kern High School District, says Griffith Field has served the school's football program well for decades, but time has taken its toll. The stadium is in need of a number of improvements.

KHSD administration has developed plans for a full modernization of the stadium,
but action has been stalled by the state's fiscal crisis.

District administrators continue to explore opportunities to implement plans for a full modernization of the BHS stadium.
As funds are accrued, some improvements will be made.
