BC officials: Man accused of attempted rape on campus

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield College officials are reporting a man was arrested, accused of trying to rape and kidnap a female student on campus.  
     
On Tuesday a notification went out across the campus that public safety received a call that a woman was yelling at a man to get away and leave her alone east of the campus center.
     
Officers arrived and found the man and woman.
     
The woman reported that the man, who was not a student, walked up to her and tried to grope her private parts and told her he was going to kidnap and rape her.
     
The man was arrested and is facing charges of sexual battery, attempted rape, attempted kidnapping, and terrorist threats.
