Man hospitalized after shooting in southeast Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man is in the hospital in critical condition after a shooting in east Bakersfield.
It happened early Friday morning around 1:15.
Bakersfield police say they were called to the 300 block of Union Avenue for a reported shooting -- that's where they found Dwayne Cummings suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. According to officers, Cummings had walked to Union Avenue after he was shot.
But the shooting happened in the 200 block of East Third Street. 
Police haven't released any information on the shooter. Anyone with information is asked to call BPD at 327-7111.
