Italian moviemaker Carlo Mazzacurati has died in his native city of Padua at the age of 57.
The award-winning director of 1994's Il Toro passed away on Wednesday night after a long illness.
He won the prestigious Silver Lion honour at the Venice Film Festival and was nominated for 10 Silver Ribbons - Italy's top film awards. He won two.
