Teen superstar Justin Bieber has been released on bail following his DUI arrest in Miami, Florida on Thursday morning.
The Baby hitmaker posted a $2,500 bond shortly after appearing before a judge via closed circuit TV from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he was being held in custody.
As he left the facility, Bieber, wearing sunglasses, a hooded black sweater and black pants, hopped onto the roof of his waiting SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) and waved to fans who had gathered outside the jail. He then climbed into the car and was driven off.
The 19 year old was arrested in the early hours of Thursday after he was spotted allegedly taking part in a drag race with R&B singer Khalil Sharief, who was also arrested. He failed a field sobriety test and was subsequently booked on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI), resisting arrest without violence and driving with an expired licence.
He has hired top lawyer Roy Black to represent him in the case. The criminal defence attorney, who is married to The Real Housewives of Miami reality star Lea Black, has previously worked for actor Kelsey Grammer, racing driver Helio Castroneves and Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis, while he famously managed to get late President John F. Kennedy's nephew, William Kennedy Smith, acquitted on rape charges in 1991.
Meanwhile, sources close to Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun tell Access Hollywood Live host Billy Bush the teenage star has been told it's time to end his year-long stint of bad behaviour.
Bush says, "I was talking to a source inside Justin’s camp... Scooter Braun and others in that camp have issued Justin an ultimatum... You’ll hear people today say, 'Oh, he’s a young guy, he’s making mistakes, he’s a young kid'. Scooter and his team, they’re all past that. They’re past that point with Justin.
"Scooter has said to him, ‘You’ve gotta go get help, or I’m done. I’m done with you!'"Copyright WENN.com
