KCID: Homicide Tracker

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - This week on Kern County in Depth, we take an in-depth look at 2016 homicides. We have extended coverage of this signature issue we've been covering extensively both in our newscasts and online, through something we call the Homicide Tracker.

In 2016, 97 people were killed in their homes, on the street, even while working. That's just one shy of the highest number of homicides ever in Kern County, which was 98 set back in 2009.

Kristin Price and Tabatha Mills have an in-depth look at the families affected, sobering statistics and possible reasons behind this drastic increase of killings in Kern County.
