County Fire: Be ready in case of emergency

BAKERSFIELD, CA -- In the event of a disaster in your area, Kern county officials want to be able to get a hold of you.

They are urging residents to sign up for state-of-the-art emergency notification system called 'Readykern'.

It's a system that alerts residents and businesses about natural disasters in their area.

Readykern enables Kern County to provide essential information quickly in a variety of situations, such as earthquakes, severe weather, fires, floods, or evacuation of buildings or neighborhoods.
