List of open cooling centers in Kern County on Aug. 29

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - As Bakersfield experiences its sixth heat wave, an excessive heat warning remains in effect through 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The county has opened several cooling centers for people who might need them.
Cooling centers OPEN on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017 between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.:
Arvin - Arvin Community Center, 800 Walnut Drive - OPEN
Bakersfield - East Bakersfield Veterans Building, 2101 Ridge Road - OPEN
Bakersfield - East Niles Senior Center, 6601 E. Niles Street - OPEN
Bakersfield - The Mission at Kern County, 816 E. 21st Street - OPEN
Buttonwillow - Buttonwillow Recreation and Park District, 556 Milo Avenue - OPEN
Shafter - Walker Senior Center, 505 Sunset Avenue - OPEN
Taft - Taft Veterans Building, 213 Taylor Street - OPEN
Ridgecrest - Kerr-McGee Center, 100 W. California Avenue - OPEN
