Supervisor Perez has taken an active role providing direction and assistance to Mr. Jackson. With the help of AC Electric and numerous volunteers, work has begun on the dwelling to bring it to code. The Kern County Departments of Engineering, Surveying and Permit Services, Parks and Recreation, and Aging and Adult Services have been onsite to see that the house is brought to a livable standard in a timely manner.
All items in the sub-standard house have been discarded, and Mr. Jackson is in need of many necessary household items. Any persons wishing to donate items may bring them Tuesday to 505 Monticello Avenue in southeast Bakersfield between 10am - 4pm. Lunch will be provided to volunteers and donors from 12 - 1pm. Below is a list of everyday items needed for Mr. Jackson.
