Preview of World AIDS Day in Bakersfield

Natasha Felkins from Planned Parenthood and Mike Gonzalez, case manager at Clinica Sierra Vista and Kern Lifeline joined Sunrise to talk about World AIDS Day.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, at 2100 H Street, in the parking lot near the Credit Union.

There will be free, confidential HIV testing. Doctors and patients who work in the field will share information about where we are now in the epidemic. 

Here is a list of events taking place around Bakersfield for World AIDS Day between Dec. 1 and Dec. 5.

World AIDS Day Candlelight Vigil and Gathering
Dec. 1, 6:30 p.m.

Singers, music, guest speakers and memorial display. Candles provided.

Dec. 2 - Dec. 3

Hygeine and Paper Good Drive
Dec. 4, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Martin's Meats and Deli
801 21st St (off Q Street)
Shampoo, soap, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, paper plates, paper cups, napkins, toilet paper, paper towels for local people with AIDS.
