ARVIN, Calif. - Arvin police are investigating five armed robberies that took place within the city. Officers say the first took place Thursday afternoon at the Arvin Dollar Mart on Bear Mountain Boulevard.
As officers got on scene to investigated, another robbery was reported at Canton's Chinese Restaurant on Bear Mountain Boulevard.
A third robbery was reported at Zapateria Shoe store, also on Bear Mountain Boulevard. Another robbery was reported at Alshaif Market on Haven Drive. The final robbery was reported at Ismali Market on Langford Avenue.
Police later determined the suspect was in the parking lot of the Fastrip Store on 800 Bear Mountain Boulevard.
Officers responded and the officers gave chase on foot. With assistance from deputies, a 15-year-old male suspect was captured. A loaded gun and an undetermined amount of money were recovered. The suspect was taken to juvenile hall for processing.
Police say the cases remain under investigation and they're trying to determine whether additional suspects are on the loose.
