BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - According to the Bakersfield City School District, the lockdown has been lifted at Wayside Elementary and Sequoia Middle School. 

Earlier, the Bakersfield Police Department arrived on scene of a suspicious object that shut down all lanes in the 1100 block of Ming Avenue in south Bakersfield. 

The object was in the parking lot of the Child Development Center on Ming Avenue. Wayside Elementary School and Sequoia Middle School were placed on lockdown while the device was inspected. 

The bomb squad detected the object. The Bakersfield Police Department are wrapping up at the scene.
