BPD officer takes plea deal in drunk driving crash that injured three people

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A Bakersfield police officer has taken a plea deal in a drunk driving crash that injured three people, including himself.
Robert Woods pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor DUI charge last Friday.
In exchange, other charges, including DUI causing bodily injury, were dismissed.
Woods has reportedly already been sentenced to time served of one day in jail and 28 hours of community service and ordered to pay related fines and attend a local drunk driving program. 
The crash happened in December 2015 at Brimhall Road and Jewetta Avenue while Woods was off duty.
All the injuries were minor.     
Woods is still employed with BPD.
