BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - On Wednesday, the lure of a hot, barbecued hamburger and the prospect of supporting a worthy cause, drew hundreds of people to the KGET Studios.
In just three hours, 17 News raised $16,000 at the annual barbecue fundraiser for the Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault.
Volunteers with California Resources Corporation, B&L Casing, Mid-Cal Labor Solutions and Universal Supply Company helped with the barbecue by selling 2,000 hamburger lunches.
