UPDATE: Man in custody after domestic dispute in south Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man was arrested after a domestic dispute in south Bakersfield.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office says it happened around 6:00 a.m. outside a home north of Colton Street on Dixon Avenue.

50-year-old James Stephens was arrested for stalking, brandishing a weapon at a peace officer, felony resisting arrest, burglary and violation of a domestic violence restraining order.

KCSO says an ex-girlfriend filed a domestic violence restraining order on Stephens, who was holed up inside an RV parked in the driveway of a home on Dixon avenue.

When he would not leave or come out, the ex-girlfriend called police just after 4:00 a.m. this morning.

Right now, SWAT team, and KC Mental Health are on scene.

SWAT Units made a decision to breach and enter the motor home. They forcibly opened the door. Stephens was inside and voluntarily submitted to an arrest. He did not attempt to resist arrest.
