BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A 2-year-old girl from Modesto is safely home after she was found in Kern County.
It happened just before midnight Thursday.
According to Modesto police, Lilyana Rivera was taken by her mother Silvia Lechuga. The two were driving in a maroon sedan headed to Texas.
Modesto police say they pinged Lechuga's cell phone within the Kern County area.
It was near McFarland and then 7th Standard Road.
CHP officers immediately began a search of the area, and around 12:30 a.m., officers found a black Toyota with New Mexico plates.
Officers say they saw a woman driver and a car seat in the back.
Officers stopped her at Panama Lane and identified the driver as Lechuga. She was put into custody and her daughter returned home.
