Bakersfield College pushes home opener kickoff to 8 p.m.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - In light of a extreme heat this weekend, Bakersfield College has decided to delay the start of its season opener to 8 p.m. on Saturday night for the safety of the football players, staff and fans.

The college says it has rented eight specialized misters and will set up cooling stations on both sides of Memorial Stadium, for the home and visiting crowds.

KGET will broadcast the game live, as the Renegades host Allan Hancock College at 8 p.m.
