Comedy legend Don Rickles passes away at 90

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - One of America's comedy legends has passed away. Don Rickles died Thursday at the age 90.

Rickles-- whose career spanned more than seven decades and included roles in films like "Casino" and the "Toy Story" trilogy--  was a fixture on the late-night talk show circuit.

The New York native's stand-up career started after a stint in the Navy but it didn't take off until he started taking on hecklers in his audience.

He mastered a take-no-prisoners stand-up style that earned him a fitting nickname - "the merchant of venom."

Rickles died from kidney failure at his Los Angeles home.

He would have turned 91 on May 8.
