Coroner identifies man killed following assault on Truxtun Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified a 30-year-old Bakersfield man killed earlier this month.

Isaac Matthew Ortiz was assaulted just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 in the 200 block of Truxtun Avenue, near Union Avenue.

Ortiz died eight days later at Kern Medical.

The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call police at 327-7111.
