East High hosting fundraisers for national We the People trip

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Students at East High School need your help to raise money for the National Finals of the We the People competition coming in April.

The East High team of 19 students has been selected as the Warren Burger Class for 2017.  It's a special designation to honor students from an economically challenged school that demonstrated a high level of academic achievement.

The students need to raise $43,200 to cover expenses for the trip to Washington D.C. Two fundraisers are coming up.  The first is Saturday, March 18.  It's a car wash with breakfast starting at 7:00 a.m. at the EBHS campus Mt. Vernon Parking lot.  Pre-sale tickets are $10.

The second is Monday, March 20, with dinners to go featuring tri-tip, rib, or pulled pork sandwiches dinners for $10.  For more information, call 871-7221.
