Golf tournament raises money for local charities

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A local charity event gave people a million reasons to practice their golf swing.

The Charity Championship Golf Tournament teed off at Seven Oaks Country Club Monday morning.

Charities like Marley's Mutts and Wounded Heroes received $50 of every registration.

There was also a special, million dollar hole-in-one challenge. Whoever could sink the shot would get to split the prize with a charity of their choice, but everyone walked away with something.

Organizers say even if you missed the event you can still donate online at their website.
