Housing report shows decline in demand

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The latest Crabtree report is out for local housing and it shows demand for homes declined significantly last month.

The median asking price is down and listings are up. There were 1,334 listings for July 2017 -- 30 homes more up for sale from June 2017. In comparison, July 2016 had more than 1,500 homes listed.

The median asking price is down half a percentage point over that time, listed at $269,900.

Local appraiser Gary Crabtree says future demand remained stable both month over month and year over year.

He summarizes that overall, the market remains flat with the decrease in demand being the only area of concern.
