Joseph's Italian Restaurant shut down by health officials

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Joseph's Italian Restaurant was shut down by the Kern County Health Department Wednesday due to lack of adequate cold holding of potentially hazardous foods, health officials announced Thursday.

According to health officials, the restaurant, located in the 3000 block of F Street in central Bakersfield, was not keeping food at the proper temperatures.

Health officials also said the restaurant did not have sanitation buckets in place.  The restaurant reportedly told officials the facility ran out of bleach the night before.

The restaurant received a 60-percent health grade by the health Department.  However, Joseph's was reopened Thursday afternoon by health officials with a B rating.
