BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - If you're looking for a career in law enforcement, a local program can get you started in that direction.
The Kern Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy is recruiting for student sponsored spots in the upcoming POST Basic Academy scheduled to start this May.
Potential recruits need to take and pass a written exam before taking part in the training academy. The first exam date is Feb. 24. Dates and more information are available here.
The training academy itself is a six-month program designed to prepare students for careers in law enforcement.
After successful completion of the academy, students may be eligible to apply for employment in many California law enforcement agencies.
