Officials: Bakersfield women have been identified

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. - UPDATE: Tulare County Sheriff's Deputies located one woman deceased early into the search on Thursday, April 13. She has been identified as Shreya Singh, 21, of Bakersfield. The second female has not been recovered.  She is identified as being Alondra Orozco, 21, of Bakersfield.
 
One woman from Bakersfield is dead and another is missing after they fell into the Tule River near Coffee Camp in Tulare County, the Tulare County Sheriff's Department said.
 
Around 10 a.m., a group of six from Bakersfield was hiking when one woman fell into the lake and was swept by the current. The other woman attempted to rescue her and was also swept away.
 
The Kern County Fire Department's helicopter assisted in the rescue.  Officials said the search would continue Thursday evening with patrol deputies there throughout the night.  
 
The search would resume Friday morning if the woman was not found.
 
No names have been released.
