Man hospitalized as victim of crossfire in East Bakersfield shooting

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man is recovering at a hospital after being caught in the middle of a shooting between two others in East Bakersfield Tuesday night.

Bakersfield police officers responded to the intersection of Kern and Kentucky streets just before 9 p.m. where they found a man in his 50s suffering a gunshot wound to the forehead.

Police say the man was driving eastbound in the 600 block of Kentucky Street between Kern and Baker streets when he found himself in the middle of people exchanging gunfire at one another.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with what are described as non-life threatening injuries.

Police did not have information on possible suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.
