Nighttime lane closures on State Routes 58 and 99 begin tonight

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Two nighttime road projects on State Routes 58 and 99 may affect your nighttime commutes throughout the week.

Installation of signs and electrical work begins Monday night on parts of State Routes 58 and 99 will require intermittent road closures.

The two outside lanes on State Route 58 are expected to be closed between State Route 99 and Cottonwood Road, while the two outside lanes on State Route 99 are expected to be closed between Ming Avenue and Wilson Road.

That work begins tonight and runs through Thursday, July 20. Motorists can expect the two outside lanes will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Sound wall and concrete barrier construction also continues along State Route 58 that will will close intermittent nighttime closures of freeway lanes and ramps. Those closures may be in place Sunday through Thursday nights between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
