Officials identify man killed in 10th Street drive-by shooting

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield police identified the man killed in Friday's drive-by shooting on 10th Street.

The shooting happened just after 4:30 p.m. on March 9 in the 1200 block of E. 10th Street. Ruben Antonio Garcia and two others were shot, according to Kern County coroner.

Garcia, a 26 -year-old from Bakersfield, was transported to Kern Medical where he died. 

On Sunday morning the Bakersfield Police Department arrested 21-year-old, Anthony Michael Gage for his involvement in the shooting, according to police. Police are still looking for a second suspect, Trevon Foreman. 

Police said witnesses told them an unknown number of people were in a light-colored sedan and approached a home while driving eastbound. Police say shots came from the passenger side striking the three victims who were in the front yard.

Bakersfield police say ShotSpotter technology was used in response to the shooting.

Gage was booked for murder, conspiracy, and participation in a criminal street gang.
