BAKERSFIELD, Calif - The Panama-Buena Vista School District is investigating a post made on the social media account of an instructional aide, which contained derogatory language aimed at Hispanics.
The post, which appeared on the account of Dani Cecil, was apparently made in response to school absences during the Feb. 16 "Day Without Immigrants" protests.
The district's Assistant Superintendent Gerrie Kincaid reported that the district is "actively addressing this right now."
Kincaid said that the district does not have the ability to monitor the social media account's of its staff and can only investigate or address issues like this when people come forward and report it.
