Road work may cause some delays in the coming days

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Road work may cause some delays in the coming days.

Two lanes of Highway 99 between Gilmore Avenue and Rosedale Highway will be closed nightly through Thursday as crews remove a temporary concrete wall.

Also, starting today, pavement repairs on 178 are scheduled between Valley Street and Alfred Harrell Highway on Highway 184.

Officials say motorists should be prepared to stop between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. They say vehicles shouldn't be delayed longer than 10 minutes. Road delays will continue until Friday. All directions of traffic are scheduled to be stopped from Tuesday to Friday at the Intersection of 178 and Canteria Drive.

And in Delano, daytime closures start today at the intersection of Garces Highway and Browning Road. Officials say the closure is for sewer and water line relocation, and will last from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.

Construction will be going on through Friday.
