Sacramento woman's dog found in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - When a Sacramento woman's dog disappeared nearly a year ago, she never gave hope of finding him.

Now, they're back together after someone in Bakersfield spotted the dog and helped get him back home.

Champ somehow got lost on April 21, 2017 from Shaunta Lowman's home.

But 10 months later, Lowman got a call saying Champ was found in Bakersfield. Volunteers helped get Champ back to Lowman.

Bakersfield to Fresno. Fresno to Manteca. Manteca to Galt. Galt to Sacramento. About 300 miles.

The only way it happened, a volunteer says, was because Champ was mircrochipped.
