Man drowns in Buena Vista Lake

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - UPDATE:

The coroner identified a 23-year-old Bakersfield man who drowned last week at Lake Buena Vista.
     
Navdeep Singh Dhillon was swimming with family in the water last Thursday afternoon, according to the coroner.
 
Dhillon's family said he went too far from shore, then started struggling in the water.
His death was ruled as accidental drowning, according to the coroner.

Just before 7 p.m., search and rescue crews located the body of a man who went missing in Buena Vista Lake on August 3.

Search and rescue crews responded to a call that a 23-year-old man had drowned in the lake. Officials say the man was not wearing a life vest when he went swimming in the lake. The man may have accidentally gone too far into the lake according to officials.
