BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Girl Scouts of Central California South are honoring three local women at the upcoming Women Inspiring Girls luncheon.

Garden Pathways President and CEO Karen Goh, Kern County District Attorney Lisa Green, and Aera Energy, LLC. Human Resource Advisor LaMeka Ross will be recognized for the positive impact they have made on their community and in their careers.

The luncheon will be held Friday, Oct. 3 at 11:30 a.m. at Valley Baptist Church at 4800 Fruitvale Ave.

In addition to her work with Garden Pathways, a non-profit organization that mentors and educates children and adults, GSCCS says Goh served as Fifth District County Supervisor from December 2010 to January 2013.

Green was the first woman in Kern County history to hold the position of District Attorney, prosecuting over 110 felony trials, according to GSCCS. She was promoted to Chief Deputy District Attorney in 2009.

GSCCS says Ross served as a finance supervisor for State Farm and financial analyst for Chevron before her current position with Aera Energy, and volunteered with community organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the Kern County Black Chamber of Commerce.

The luncheon will be held Friday, Oct. 3 at 11:30 a.m. at Valley Baptist Church at 4800 Fruitvale Ave.
