McMaster to serve as National Security Advisor

WASHINGTON, D.C. - (NBC News) President Donald Trump has picked General H.R. McMaster to serve as National Security Adviser.

McMaster won the job over three other candidates and replaces Michael Flynn, who was forced to resign for lying to Vice President Mike Pence about his contact with the Russia's ambassador prior to Trump's inauguration.

As Trump was introducing McMaster, "Not My President's Day" rallies were being held in cities across the country, with thousands of Americans denouncing Mr. Trump's policies.
