Federal grand jury indicts 2 men in undercover meth sting

Two men have been indicted by federal grand jury for their roles in delivering methamphetamine to an undercover officer in Delano.

Oscar Ivan Salazar-Avalos, 27, and Jose Manuel Sotelo-Mendoza, 25, were charged with conspiracy to distribute and posses with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.

According to court documents, Salazar and Sotelo delivered 15 pounds of methamphetamine to an undercover officer in Delano on July 13 after Salazar negotiated a price per pound for the drug. 

If convicted the two face a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison and $10 million in fines for each count.
