According to Lt. Clay Chism, a spokesman for the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called just before 2:40 a.m. Thursday regarding a missing child. Deputies found the missing child's body hidden in the home.
The child had been shot several times, Chism said.
Authorities could not locate the babysitter, Scottie Willet, and called the Missouri State Highway Patrol around 3 a.m. to help with the search. Willet, who had been living at the residence, had stolen a vehicle belonging to the homeowner's family.
