Andrea Godina, 32, began teaching English in Seoul in 2008.

"She wanted to go to Korea," said her grandmother, Jennie Elias. "That's where she wanted to go, to help children over there. She got her dream."

But that dream turned into a nightmare late last week, when Godina came down with the flu and later pneumonia so severe that she had to be hospitalized.

"Saturday they just called and said, 'We need you to come. She's dying,'" said her sister, Leticia Sisneros.

Her mother and aunt left the next day, but by then it was already too late.
