Officials arrest woman wanted for kidnapping, robbery, gang charges

KCSO: Linked to January crash when deputy was almost run over

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Kern County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman Saturday who is linked to a crash where a deputy was nearly run over earlier this year.

On Saturday, deputies arrested 20-year-old Stephanie Quiroz near Wible Road and Panama Lane over felony warrant for robbery, kidnapping, robbery, participating in a criminal street gang.

Quiroz was wanted for kidnapping a 19-year-old man who, while held at gunpoint, nearly ran over a sheriff's deputy.

The gang unit says she had a half ounce of meth when they arrested her. 

The alleged kidnapping happened January 21. A deputy was at his vehicle near Heritage Bible Church on Mount Vernon Avenue when a car tried hitting him, missed and hit the church instead.
