BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - UPDATE: According to Kern Department of Public Health, the Popeye's on White Lane re-opened Thursday with a "B" grade.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen located at 1449 White Lane is closed by the Kern County Public Health Department for inadequate refrigeration following an inspection Monday.
According to public health, potentially hazardous food was being held on ice in a walk-in refrigerator with a temperature showing 70 degrees. Health officials also found assorted pieces of raw chicken with internal temperatures ranging from 46 - 60 degrees, above the proper food handling temperature of 41 degrees.
The health department also witnessed there was no log documenting temperatures.
Public health said the restaurant is still closed and it is unknown at this time when they will reopen.
