Public health officials close Family Dollar in South Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kern County Public Health Department closed the Family Dollar Store in South Bakersfield due to a vermin infestation.
 
Health officials observed rodent droppings on shelving units adjacent to dog food and prepackaged human food. They also reported rodent droppings on the sales floor and back storage floors, according to the report.
 
The facility located at 333 South Union Avenue is on weekly pest control services. Bait boxes were observed at the end of every food aisle, according to health officials. 
 
The permit is suspended until vermin infestation has subsided, according to health officials.
