Kern Health Systems has new chief medical officer

Dr. Chandrakala Gowda has relocated from Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was most recently the Medical Director for Parkview Health, the largest not for profit health system in Northeast Indiana.
BAKERSFIELD, CA -- Kern Health Systems has a new chief medical officer in house.  Dr. Chandrakala Gowda comes to Bakersfield from Fort Wayne, Indiana.  According to a news release, Dr. Gowda most recently worked as the Medical Director for Parkview Health, the largest not-for-profit health system in Northeast Indiana.  Her professional credentials include specialty and subspecialty Board Certification in Pediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care; as well as, holding a Master's Degree in Business Administration.

She has extensive leadership experience including serving as Medical Director for three separate organizations. In addition to her many honors and awards, Dr. Gowda has published numerous articles in peer reviewed Journals, including the
Journal of Perinatology.

Dr. Gowda will report directly to the CEO, Doug Hayward, who stated, "With children representing a sizable percent of our enrollment, as a Pediatrician and Neonatologist, our members and providers will benefit from her clinical practice knowledge as we strive to achieve the best health care for our youngest enrollees."
