There's breaking news in the vote count that could have ended the GET bus strike.

GET workers have just rejected GET's latest offer, by an overwhelming vote of 161-19.

The offer from GET officials was a 3 percent raise for a one year contract. Previously they had been offering a 2 percent raise and a 2.5 percent raise for the second year.

Union spokesperson Chester Suniga said he is not surprised by the vote because drivers and mechanics want a fair increase to make their salaries comparable transit workers to similar-sized cities.
