KGET 2007
BAKERSFIELD, CA -- A jury has found a man guilty of killing an Inyokern man in 2011.  Prosecutors say Jeremy Salter murdered John Evans in his home and then tried to conceal evidence.  He was convicted of first degree murder with a special circumstance of lying in wait.

According to prosecutors, Salter removed the body to a remote location and burned it.  The victim's body was discovered damaged and charred and exposed to the elements about a month after the shooting.  An autopsy revealed two bullet holes to the back of the head.

Salter is scheduled to be sentenced June 12.  He is facing a sentence of up to life in prison without parole.
