Police arrest man for attempted murder

BAKERSFIELD, CA- A Bakersfield man has been arrested for attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Old Town Kern.

Bakersfield police said Nicholas Salinas,33, is suspected of shooting a man during an argument on Sumner Street Monday night.

The victim was shot in the chest and suffered moderate to major injuries.

Salinas was arrested early Wednesday morning, and has been booked into the downtown jail.

He is expected in court Friday.
