Update: Jonathan Hearn sentenced to 25 years in prison

Hearn admitted to killing Robert Limon at BNSF rail yard

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - This morning, admitted killer Jonathan Hearn was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He will be eligible for parole.

For those in need of a refresher, Jonathan Hearn was the lover of Sabrina Limon. Hearn pulled the trigger, killing Sabrina's husband Robert Limon in 2014, but it's Sabrina who now faces life in prison after a guilty first-degree murder conviction in October.

27-year-old Hearn, a former firefighter, proved crucial to the prosecution's case against Limon because Hearn took a plea deal in exchange for testifying against his former lover.

During her trial, Hearn told the jury the pair plotted the murder together because they were madly in love and wanted a future.

As part of the plea deal, Hearn's first-degree murder charge was reduced to manslaughter, meaning he could be out in 18 years-around his 44th birthday.

Meanwhile, Limon is expected to be sentenced in February.
