Jacksonville, FL (Sports Network) - Jacksonville University football faces a potentially difficult start to its season and will play five home games as part of an 11-game schedule this year.
The non-scholarship Dolphins from the Pioneer Football League will travel to FCS powers Delaware on Aug. 29 and Jacksonville State on Sept. 7 to kick off their season under seventh-year coach Kerwin Bell.
JU's home games at Milne Field will be against PFL opponents Morehead State (Sept. 14), Butler (Sept. 28), Davidson (Oct. 26) and Stetson (Nov. 16) as well as NAIA member Warner (Sept. 21).
The Dolphins hope to build on last year's 7-4 record, including 5-3 in the PFL.
The PFL champion will receive an automatic bid to the FCS playoffs for the first time this year.
