Shirley Fire: 3 structures burned, 1,000 threatened near Wofford Heights, west of Lake Isabella
Near Wofford Heights, CA -- Here is the latest from the 17 Newsroom at 7 p.m. on this Sunday night, June 15: the Shirley Fire is burning between Alta Sierra... closer to Wofford Heights... mainly in the Rattlesnake Creek Drainage Area about one mile from Wofford Heights.

The U.S. Forest Service says this fire has burned more than two thousand acres and is just five percent contained.

Three structures have been lost, one thousand structures are threatened.

Evacuations are mandatory now in these communities: Alta Sierra, Wagy Flats, Shirley Meadows, and Hungry Gulch.

An evaucation center is set up at the Lake Isabella Senior Center at 6407 Lake Isabella Boulevard in Lake Isabella.

These roads are closed in the area: Rancheria Road, Wagy Flat Road, Sawmill Road and Old State Road.
